Our Mission and Vision
We strive to provide you a place to come to do business, and feel your best interest is at heart in order to make your operation a success. We have a much different vision that starts with your soil’s health through soil testing and tailored recommendations to your operation, followed by selection of the industry’s best performing seed from ProHarvest Seeds and Wyffels Hybrids. Next, we will work with you to create a custom seed treatment and starter fertilizer blends utilizing fungicides, insecticides, and biologicals to get your seed off to the best start we can. When your crop is up and growing, we will ensure that it remains able to maximize its performance with the addition of biological and micronutrient amendments throughout the growing season. As we continue to work to become your trusted advisor, we aim to tie everything together with our sustainability program to reward our growers with an opportunity to receive payment for the work and commitment they have done to be good stewards of their land. In all, we look to offer a “whole farm approach” from starting at what’s in your soil, to working with you to ensure you are maximizing your crop outputs and land values with successful sustainability efforts and high performing products.
Our Team
Greg Simmons has lifelong roots in agriculture and a passion for Agronomy and seed product selection. Greg was raised on a family corn, soybean, and hog farm in Central Illinois. His love of agriculture propelled him to graduate with a BS in Agronomy/Ag Business from Illinois State University. After college, Greg began his progressive career in Retail Agronomy Sales and attained his Certified Crop Advisor certificate. Through his knowledge of utilizing soil tests and yield data, qualified agronomic recommendations, consistent collaboration, and experitice of seed product selection he has helped farmers maximize their ROI and form successful partnerships for over 18 years.
With the collaboration of his experience and connections in Ag retail, Greg saw an opportunity to expand on his agronomic expertise and experience to form a locally family owned company, Rohrer Seed Solutions. Greg is looking forward to providing you and your operation access to the best genetics and products through his partnership with companies providing high performing products to enhance your farming operation. Greg enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, camping, fishing, hunting, and working outside.
